About Featherlight Travel

Featherlight Travel is an independent travel consulting business operated by Featherlight Consulting, LLC, doing business as Featherlight Travel ("Featherlight Travel"). Featherlight Travel provides professional travel planning and consulting services and acts solely as an independent intermediary between clients and third-party travel suppliers. Featherlight Travel does not act as a tour operator, carrier, or guarantor of travel services.

Scope of Services

Services may include itinerary design, booking coordination, cruise planning, international and domestic travel planning, and pre- and post-travel consultation. Services vary by client and trip and are tailored based on traveler needs, destinations, and complexity. Featherlight Travel provides professional consulting, planning, and coordination services. While Featherlight Travel may assist with booking arrangements, the actual provision of travel services is performed by independent third-party suppliers.

Featherlight Travel operates on a Travel Design Retainer model for customized itinerary planning. A non-refundable Travel Design Retainer is required before detailed research and itinerary development begins. This retainer secures dedicated planning time and covers strategic consultation, supplier coordination, itinerary design, and up to two rounds of revisions within the original scope of the trip. The retainer is applied in full toward the confirmed booking.

Independent Contractors & Travel Suppliers

Featherlight Travel does not own, manage, control, or operate any travel suppliers, including but not limited to airlines, cruise lines, hotels, transportation providers, or tour operators. Featherlight Travel is not responsible for the acts, errors, omissions, representations, warranties, breaches, or negligence of any travel supplier. All bookings are subject to the individual terms, conditions, and cancellation policies of the respective suppliers. Featherlight Travel does not guarantee availability, pricing, travel outcomes, or the quality of services provided by third-party suppliers.

Payments & Fees

All pricing is subject to change until paid in full. Deposit requirements, final payment deadlines, cancellation penalties, and refund eligibility are governed by the individual supplier’s terms and conditions. Travel Design Retainers and any additional planning fees are non-refundable unless otherwise expressly stated in writing. Failure to submit payments by required deadlines may result in cancellation by the supplier and the imposition of penalties.

Travel Design Retainer Policy

The Travel Design Retainer secures dedicated planning time and initiates the formal design process. Retainers are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of payment unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The Travel Design Retainer:

• Is non-refundable
• Is applied in full toward the confirmed booking
• Does not guarantee availability or pricing
• Covers up to two revisions within the original scope
• May require adjustment if the trip scope changes significantly (including but not limited to destination changes, major date shifts, or a change in travel style)

Cancellations & Changes

Any changes or cancellations requested by the client are subject to the applicable supplier’s terms, conditions, and penalties. Featherlight Travel has no control over supplier-imposed fees, penalties, or refund decisions.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect against cancellation, interruption, medical emergencies, supplier default, and travel delays. The decision to purchase travel insurance is the sole responsibility of the traveler. Featherlight Travel is not a licensed insurance agent and does not sell, bind, or underwrite insurance policies. Information provided regarding travel insurance is for general informational purposes only.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information, reviewing all travel documents upon receipt, and ensuring compliance with passport validity, visa requirements, vaccination requirements, and other destination-specific entry or health requirements. Featherlight Travel is not responsible for issues arising from inaccurate information provided by the client or the client’s failure to review documentation or comply with travel requirements.

Assumption of Risk

Clients acknowledge that travel involves inherent risks, including but not limited to delays, cancellations, health risks, weather events, acts of terrorism, governmental actions, and changes in regulations or entry requirements. Clients voluntarily assume all such inherent risks associated with travel.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Featherlight Travel’s total liability for any claim, loss, or damages arising out of or related to its services shall be limited to the amount of fees paid directly to Featherlight Travel for planning or consulting services. In no event shall Featherlight Travel be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment, emotional distress, or missed travel opportunities, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

Clients agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Featherlight Travel and Featherlight Consulting, LLC, including their officers, members, agents, and contractors, from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from the client’s acts or omissions, failure to comply with travel requirements, or breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Force Majeure

Featherlight Travel shall not be liable for failure to perform or delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, public health emergencies, labor disputes, strikes, acts of God, war, terrorism, or governmental actions.
